A Luxury Christmas in Finnish Lapland

Christmas is the most sought-after time of the winter season and Lumo Resort has only 20 rooms. Most Christmas stays are booked between July and October, and specific dates sell out first. If you have fixed travel dates, we recommend booking as early as possible.

Yes. For winter 2026–2027 there are direct flights to Kuusamo from Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Zürich. The resort is around 9 minutes from Kuusamo Airport, and transfers are included in the Christmas package, so you can be checked in shortly after landing. From Austria, the easiest route is via Helsinki with a short connecting flight to Kuusamo.

Your stay includes accommodation with a private sauna and jacuzzi, daily breakfast, lunch and three-course dinners, festive dinners on the 24th and 25th, a visit to Santa's Cottage, reindeer, husky and snowmobile experiences, thermal clothing, airport transfers and Christmas gifts. Alcoholic beverages are not included.

The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed. What we can promise is one of the best settings to look for them: a peaceful location away from city lights, a glass roof above your bed, and our Aurora Alert App that notifies you when activity is detected, even at night.

The Christmas package has a three-night minimum. Most guests stay four to five nights, which allows a relaxed pace: festive dinners, the Santa and reindeer day, a husky day, and time to simply enjoy the sauna, the snow and the silence.

Less than you might think. Thermal outdoor clothing, including jacket, trousers, boots, mittens and hat, is provided for your entire stay. Bring warm base layers, indoor clothing and swimwear for the jacuzzi.

Yes. Lumo Arctic Essentials offers a simpler stay with reindeer experience, breakfast, lunch and three-course dinners. The Winter Romance Retreat is designed for couples, and Chasing the Aurora is built around the northern lights. All are available across the winter season, subject to availability.
